So, apparently Richard Linklater is going to be judging a NASA-based short film contest called Cinespace.
http://cinespace16.org
Only requirement is that it has to contain at least 10% NASA footage and be under 10 minutes. Any genre.
Any other filmmakers doing something for this?

Bump
I'm not a filmmaker but I'm tempted to film some stuff with my phone. they explicitly say they welcome experimental films so that's great

Hey, whatever gets you out there, man.
Myself I really want to take a stab at horror. Looking up into the night sky, for me at least, is terrifying, and I think I can work well with that.
>tfw can't edit for shit even though I got avid i can't import any files

this was last years winner HAHHAHA
fuck contests. judges are fucking losers who suck.
the market is the only judge who counts.

Avid's a bitch to operate, I agree. Powerful as hell though, and apparently not bad when you get the hang of it.
I use Premiere because I'm a pleb faggot but yeah.

CONGRATULATIONS, YOU RUINED YOUR FUCKING HOUSE.
I can see why that would win, it's trying to convey the awe of space through the lens of a family trying to become closer to one another. Making outer space human.
I couldn't stand that awful stereotypical indie music though. That shit was just grating.

Premiere easy to import files?
I used Apple at uni for a semester like 10 years ago and it seemed so complicated, i could do it but I didnt find it intuitive
Is Premier intuitive and simple?

>asking for Linklater's opinion on my work
I don't approve of untalented hacks commenting on things beyond their intellectual abilities
Any praise from him would make me ashamed of my art

Easier than Avid, for sure.

Fuck
If I'd found out sooner...
I might still give it a shot cause why not right?
>>71071114
this shit legitimately makes me hate the industry
and they keep whining about why directors can't break out the film festival circuit into mainstream
>THIS SHIT IS WHY
when will film festivals stop being pretentious wank about shallow emotions or social issues and start celebrating good film making again?
