Then pick one with each actor so you can get their grip.

You can marathon them like you would with a series and it's not so demanding of you that you'll be tired of it unless you really don't like them.

Just watch From Russia With Love and Casino Royale (2006)

They are the least cheesy, but still full of charm. A lot of wit as well.
From Russia With Love has a lot of atmosphere. Love that first scene during the chess tournament. Such a simple scene but the placing of it all makes it feel so much more heavy.

bad idea, it has so little in common with other films in the franchise that it's a shitty way of being introduced to Bond.

If you aren't going to start at the beginning, the best choice is GoldenEye.
