This.
They could make a cheaper, 5th Gear type show with the actual journalists and probably get 2-3 million UK viewers.
They made the huge mistake of thinking they could easily replicate Clarkson, Hammond, May and Wilman and keep the international audience of 300-400 million.
Despite every other TG clone failing they still tried it. Madness.
Clarkson was a comedic right wing troll and that's why people watched it.
Adolf Hitler did nothing wrong. FACT
>>71058441
The show isn't actually as bad as I thought it would be. Sure, Evans is even worse than I thought he would be, and the celebrity segment are even more of a chore.
But Joey is okay, and the rest of the presenters are pretty good.
Although they sadly made it a car show instead of a comedy show in cars.

I want to like the handsome fella, but he ain't cuttin it.
Even though this is 4chan and I'll probably be chastised, I gotta say that guy Rory, the negro? He's had a great segment with the focus rs and a brilliant one with the new Tesla. I watched the latest episode this morning and I genuinely loved that whole bit. Improvements are being made continuously and the extra gear guys are being given more of the spotlight, I don't care about the ratings they are completely backwards
>>71058441
Why does he have 2.3 million followers on twitter?
He's some ginger twat with no charisma and forced personality
>>71059791
He's okay, not great, and he's crap at talking wile driving.
I think it would work out better if he took over the star-in-car part of the show and mostly just presented what would be shown next.
>>71059904
Someone probably hookd him up with those follower to make it look like his opinion really matters to general public.

I'm surprised that Matt LeBlanc is getting so much love on here. Everyone seems to agree that he's one of the only decent things about the new Top Gear but I think he's mediocre at best. Most of his jokes fall flat and he has no chemistry with Chris Evans although I don't think anyone could have chemistry with that cunt.
>>71060207
He's right
>>71060207
What did you just call me?
>>71059893
I completely agree.
Really, the entire team besides LeBlanc and Evans are good.
Too bad that they couldn't make a show with just them and call it something other than Top Gear.
And is Extra Gear worth a watch? Is it exactly what I asked for?
>>71060207
>What is Britain's Got More Talent?
>>71060233
I think he's okay. He could without a doubt become actually good if he got more used to the job and familiar with the cast.
And his voice is soothing.
Evans is a lost cause, though.
>>71060364
an ITV show for a start, imbecile
>>71060268
a fucking moron possibly retarded
>>71058441
Why did the BBC go with Evans? He is such an unlikeable persona for such a show. EVERYONE called it a bad idea as soon as it was announced, everyone knew it was a bad idea. He didn't even specifically request it I don't think. They are getting exactly what the market predicted so I don't know why this is a surprise?
Evans also clearly lacks the confidence to truly shine against the old crew. Should have just gotten some alpha Mel Gibson/Russel Crowe type who would have said that was that and this is a new show now, fuck off if you don't like it and it would have been fine. You can tell Evans is a "small man" and he obviously is working too hard to try and impress which is not what a "masculine audience" really wants. Put Evans and Clarkson in a classroom together as teenagers and Clarkson would have literally bullied Evans, that's the difference between their personalities.

he's a total pussy that they could control i.e. opposite of clarkson
>>71060270
I only bothered with a bit of the first episode and turned it off not because it was bad but because I was still bitter about the main premier.
From what I saw the presenters and the writing for segments is good but it was just a standard motoring show with nothing really interesting to say. That's why I was so impressed when rory just told us 'you have to accept it. This is the future' that was ballsy and I liked it
I'll maybe check out the rest of them

Let's be honest here. Evans caused a lot of lost viewers for being as annoying as possible and acting as the face of the show all over twitter. If it were an american show he'd be sued.
>>71061137
it's illegal to own a tv that recieves a signal without paying a license, in which the fees go towards the BBC so not quite true
also "illegal" is a bit of a stretch considering you can refuse to let the person who's meant to check if you own a tv in your home
>>71061141
Because the cast has no chemistry between them. Top gear US quickly realized this so they just went ahead and did road trips for the rest of the show which at least kept them afloat
>>71061137
In the same sense that PBS is paid for by your tax money and it's illegal for you not to pay taxes.
>>71061137
Most of their funding comes from TV licenses that Britcucks must pay for if they own a television.
>>71058441
I asked this after the first trainwreck, if the studio segments get filmed weekly and not all at once, why couldn't they simply change a bit and take the fan feedback to make it better?

They need to make Matt Le Blanc the lead, stop scripting the show and let them improvise/ad lib. The inclusion of more brit celebs would help, like Rowan Atkinson. He held the fastest time and has a racing licence. Would be good if The Stig was someone like Sebastian Loeb.
>>71062505

For one the UK have already voted on a EU referendum. This is the second major referendum in the UK in the past three years. So to say it is the "last chance" is full-blown retarded and an obvious scare-tactic.
Hypothetically if it were the last chance, that isn't reason enough to vote leave. This isn't a tester, we can't go back after this. Even if we logistically could return to the EU, the national embarrassment alone would prevent it from happening. To say that we should do it just because this vote may not happen again is fucking stupid, I've never bet my life savings on red and spun - and while statistically there is an even chance I come out good - the risk is too high.
Finally that headline is embarrassing as fuck, so desperate, and the kind of massive basis the one has come to expect from The Telegraph. Ultimately I don't see why OP quoted from the telegraph when there are better sources of news.
