Well they just had their best episode in 3 years, so it's going to be a while before it becomes unwatchable.
I stopped watching a couple episodes into Season 4. Honestly, rewatching the first three season, it's a wonder I got that far. It starts crumbling around Season 2, I feel like it completely toppled around Season 4-5, and now it's just tumbling downtumbling down tumbling down
This whole season in particular looks to me like they've completely run out of any ideas for drama besides "You like this character? DEAD! You like this character? DEAD! You like this character...?"

It reached that point for me. I unironically thought it's one of the best shows on television when it first came around. Seasons 1, 2 and 3 were great. Then 4 started steadily declining. 5 was pure shit and 6 is just as bad.

Took it off my DVR schedule last season (I kept expecting Ted McGinley to appear and serve shark pie or something). Build up a semi-likable character? Kill them. Set up a compelling story arc? End it before it pays off.
Dear GoT writers: Just making a visually beautiful world is not enough to sustain a show. Just hating a character is not enough to sustain a show. Maybe you should just take a page from GRR Martin and shoot an entire episode of the Food of the Red Keep (with Closed Captioning describing it in excruciatingly painful detail).
