I genuinely enjoyed this episode. Mainly because it was all battles and therefore had less fanfiction tier dialogue.
Jon's rampage was directed/choreographed better than most movies Hollywood has produced.
I was apprehensive about the resolution of the masters/Dany in Meereen but was pleasantly surprised.

What you said is bugging me, I mean, I get what you're trying to say but I don't think it really applies here.
If he had carried a masse or even a medium size trunk he could've ran through those shielded knights like butter in my opinion. Look how easily he ripped that guy in half with just his hand. I'm not saying they'd die to the impact but they'd at least be smashed away, which would give the opportunity to his allies to charge in.
The giant having a weapon of some sort should've been logical, but I think they went with him not having any because it would've disrupted the way they planned the battle to go.
