Lost and Mad men are mediocre also, they're okay but highly overrated. Sopranos, boardwalk empire, and twin peaks should all be higher. Hannibal should be lower, deadwood should e above friday night lights and the leftovers should be a lot lower.

If you were to split The Sopranos into two shows; one would be the nuanced, character driven study of existentialism known as Mad Men while the other would be the standard pulpy gangster fare known as Boardwalk Empire. You can say it looks good and has nice acting but it is ultimately an empty show.
I really wish there were some good sci-fi shows. Battlestar Galactica and Star Trek are fun to watch but I'd prefer having more

You're actually describing mad men. The actual narrative of mad men is soap opera tier garbage of 'omg so and so cheated on so and so and so and so might go out and cheat on so and so to get revenge'. It's nothing but petty soap opera type story lines. The acting is good and the cinematography is pretty good but everything else about mad men is empty and utterly mediocre and dull.
Board walk empire on the other hand actually manages to have both excellent cinematography, acting as well as having an exciting narrative and being well written.
Boardwalk Empire is nowhere near on the same level as Deadwood.
