Something along those lines is the most likely place for something like that to happen. Nowadays, shit like that seldom occurs in those kinds of places.

As someone who lives in a Hickville I can attest that this shit and worse is done in public, often with the proprietor's full endorsement and sometimes an announcement in the bulletin board about it. It died down for a few years after some guy drowned in the fountain.
