The first season was good until you realize all the ghosts just hang out in the house together and don't do anything scary. That's how I'd describe my experience of season 2. I wonder if there was different writers for each episode or something, because no one seemed to know where the story was going.
I can legitimately say I enjoyed season 2. Every other season has been pure shit, except season 1 which was just okay.
The problem is "the unknown" is easily man's greatest commonly shared fear, but every fucking season now they insist on making each monster a fully fleshed character so the only remaining horror is this awful goreporn TV shit that isn't actually scary. If they kept the monsters as threatening and deadly unknowns it'd be much creepier, none of this delving into their social justice backstory bullshit. Only season to capitalize well on the fear of the unknown was season 2.
