Revan isn't even that awesome anymore. The newest expansion to The Old Republic basically had him as the bitch of the Emperor of the Sith and that same Emperor having an entire other Empire he was running at the same time.

I think that is how it is supposed to be really as the whole Sith mantra is there is only two because there needs to be a dude being the manifestion of power and the apprentice to usurp that power and inherently become more powerful.
So in the actual star wars canon Sidious would have to be the most powerful sans Anakin who was gimped by Sidious.

Rey has more in common with Revan then Ren does. Honestly Episode 8 is more likely to end with Rey turning dark, and dawning a modified version of Ren's mask.
