They just weren't faithful to the source material really it's impossible to make a PG-13 Pizza Man, he should be out curb stomping pimps and fucking up drug dealers, besides a true PM movie now would just be another Nolan style "muh gritty realism" and yet people don't realise that style actually extends from '93 limited run of Pizza Man were Frank Miller worked on it.
