It sucks.

Just watched it. Thought it was good. It was surprisingly violent in a jarring way. It was typical.

I have never seen a film make a musical performance seem so powerful.

op here , there were two scenes that made me almost tear up. when they split the caramel and when he was found out by the german and he still dragged his tin can of food with him.

Production is a bit shaky, sometimes it looks like a TV movie.

Nice. Yeah. I thought the drum scenes kinda have the tone you were describing. The Pianist seemed to be a more subtle violence to me due to the generally quieter and calmer nature of the piano.
