The first negative review for Warcraft was from a guy who gave this fucking movie a 4/5.

mortal kombat 2.
dragonball evolution is not even that bad
>>
>>70838310
slaughterhouse 5 was a complete failure both as a movie and as an adaptation

that said, DB evolution is actually a fun, lighearted movie, if you choose to ignore the chinese cartoons.

Not at all.

>dragonball evolution is not even that bad
As a movie it could be worse but OP said adaptation. Dragonball Evolution is an adaptation in name only. Literally nothing is done right

Rollerball. 70s movie was such a classic, tje re make was an insult of everything that went before and an affront to film in general. It even had LL cool J *spits*
>>
All things considered, DBz evolition was not that bad

Its really a case of studios not pandering to manchildren, but rather capitulating to them. Never apoligize for your art, especially to fucking anime fans mashing their keyboards. Studios must learn this
>>
Easy.
>>
>>70839146
As a movie, it's barely passable. As an adaptation, it's fucking garbage. Hell the only decent fight scene it had was one where "Goku" didn't even throw a punch

>>70839342
I feel bad for the kid who played Aang. I heard he was a big fan of the show and the movie just shat all over that
>>
it might not actually be that bad, but i consider myself to have somewhat low standards even today and i was severely disappointed by this movie when i was 10

Then I got older and realized the books weren't that great to begin with
>>
i like adaptations that veer off and do their own thing, yet still stays within the framework of the original material with some of the same ideas.

the absolute worst adaptations are the ones that are too close to the original material. if you want to make a move of a book by following it page by page, don't bother. it's not that fun to see on a screen the stuff i imagined when reading the book, take me elsewhere. good ideas are to modernize them and make them contemporary. they're difficult though.

a scanner darkly is an exmaple of a good movie but bad adaptation imo since it's basically just the book page by page, literally. it's kind of cool to see the stuff on a screen performed by actors, after having read it, but then after the movie you're just left with the same impressions you had when reading the book.

so i'd go with a scanner darkly as the worst adaptation.

2005 bruh. Huh, has it really been that long? I still remember seeing it in theaters
>>
>>70839748
So much BORING! Really no bad just BORING!
>>
>>70839520

I can remember seeing this one Thanksgiving break during college because nothing else was playing and seeing two teen girls flip their shit over everything in that movie. Then midway through I fell asleep and woke up to those same two girls losing it over some wizard rock band. That was my first and only trip to a theater to see a Harry Potter movie.

I concur. Although there are exceptions like lord of the rings and The Mist
>>
>>70839683
Same, but I just felt like the entire plot was put on fast forward. I could feel it in almost every line of dialogue. There were also a lot of changes/things that got cut out that I didn't like, but I haven't seen the movie or read the book in so long that I can't really point them out. Another thing I remember being disappointed by was Voldemort's appearance.

The Warriors. Only thing in common with the book is the premise

this was the funnest one for me, you really got to know the school and how life was at hogwarts through the whole movie, dark stuff only starts in the last quarter of the movie.
