What's the essential romcom kino?
Tons of screwball comedies. Bringing Up Baby for example. Many Woody Allen features as well. I don't know really because romcom makes me think of cheesy, forgettable romantic comedies starring two B+/A- leads.

Watched this with my grandfather last week
we both had lots of laughs and he said that the theatre was rolling with laughter during the hitch hiking scene
The walls of jericho and the scene after was funny

Fun fact: rabbits don't particularly like carrots.
People think they do because of Bugs Bunny, but he only chomped on carrots to act like a smug asshole, parodying Clark Gable in this scene.

This one.

No wonder my rabbit died.

That is the most based trivia I'm gonna hear for months, anon.
Also, It Happened One Night is GOAT.
Although post feminism, the one with the whore and the banker is lovely too.

Soviet romcoms are really comfy
>>70838481
I don't really think of that as a romantic comedy, it's too serious in places, but if you count it, it's the best ever made.

Great selections. Also, pic related and all Whit Stillman really including the new Love & Friendship. Just watched Sabrina and it was charming. A New Leaf, the Heartbreak Kid. Ophuls' La Ronde and The Earrings of Madame De...

Literally one of the worst romantic comedies I've seen

I like Holiday better.
Cary Grant does backflips.
This is still my favorite.

Don't know m8 I found harry and sally to be a sort of a crude annie hall ripoff, somehow I could not enjoy this film no matter how I tried
>>70839485
It's not as good as some other ones, but it's pretty good. The girl is hot as shit.

Is this the essential brocom kino??
>>70838411
Only other Soviet films I've seen I wouldn't classify as romcom, but yeah, comfy af.
So glad I discovered the Mosfilm Youtube channel.
I tried finding out what film that is in your pic but I keep getting some film from 2014, think a remake. Is that the one where they go on holiday, something to do with thieves?
>>70838695
that's not really a romcom from what I recall. Don't they have a healthy working relationship in itup until literally the last 2 minutes? Sort of like a feminist film done well really.
>>70841606
It's this movie.
My personal favorite of Soviet romance is The Cranes are Flying.
>>70838878
me too, this one is goat for me. I know all the lines pretty much and I still laugh.
>pic is another fave
>>70842331
For a while there I was thinking of The Height which is one of the worse ones in my opinion. I've actually seen most of these somehow. Yeah, The Cranes are Flying was a good one, although definitely not a comedy, more of a tragedy.
Afonya is probably my favourite Soviet film which isn't romcom, but by the end is definitely a feel-good film.
My personal favorite

This one is better.
W8 4 the h8 m8
>mfw i just realized romcom stands for romantic comedy

maybe. been a while since I've seen that one. The ones I like aren't always the "better" ones, especially in a genre like this... just depends.

I think she's great. I love Funny Girl. so, so good.
this one has some great moments. can't beat young Nic Cage. Cher is awesome, as always. Her acting is so good, but her singing never did it for me.
this is a comedy first and a romcom close second, but it's 10/10 80's kino. It doesn't get any comfier than this, fellas.

This is the GOAT. My ex turned me on to that movie and I liked it so much that I stole her DVD of it when we split up.

ok maybe I was too quick on the button. I enjoyed some scenes in Annie Hall. Largely Woody Allen is trash though.
>>70844083
>>70844614
Woody is great when he wants to be, but he just makes movies nonstop so you can't expect every one to be a masterpiece.
>>70844280
I don't know It's Always Sunny that well. I've seen it a bunch of times, but I don't watch it religiously. Too many other shows ahead of it on my list.
anyway, you mean the pic I posted reminds you? (if so, don't base your judgement of the movie on that.) watch the trailer.
I highly recommend the movie. We loved it as kids. Watched it over and over.
