God this shit is offensive. I hate that they interpreted a more "child friendly" book as being cartoony garbage.
>>
I'm really glad I never bothered to watch the 3rd one.
>>
>>70824463
the hobbit is a children's movie based of a children's book
>>
What the fuck is even supposed to be happening?
>>
>>70824427

Wow, I totally erased that from my memory apparently.
>>
>>70824512
this, do they have magnets in their heads?
>>
>>70824427
how the fuck does a scene like this gets through all the stages from writing, filming, post production and editing without anyone saying that it is utterly ridiculous with no point whatsoever is beyond me

just look at this shit
>>
>>70824507
By that logic, if you hated the movie, you should hate the book.
>>
>>70824512
So I have a theory about this

Im pretty sure both the dwarf and the orc were supposed to have CGI helmets that were never added in. I think those helmets were supposrd to have horns or some shith that lock when they head butt. But thats just my theory, it could just as easily be a super-glue-orc or some bullshit
>>
>>70824463
it is
>>
So we can all agree the Hobbit is prequel-tier shit, correct?
>>
>>70824599

It's almost worse. The prequels were terrible but the ideas came from the same person as the original. The Hobbit crew had a great book to adapt and did it horribly.
>>
>>70824551
Didn't you watch the movie?

The dwarf has a broken-off hatchet permanently stuck to his forehead.
>>
>>70824551
The orc is CGI
>>
>>70824599

I watch the prequels from time to time, and will again in the future.

I will never watch any of The Hobbits again. Ever.
>>
>>70824427
Holy shit, was that in the actual movie?

I think the action scenes in the first Hobbit had a very good balance of comedy and dramatic action (apart from the Goblin Town sequence but then that entire part was garbage)

Atleast Peter Jackson and the team admitted that they didn't execute it properly.

On the other hand, if George Lucas put literal shit in our eyes he would think people should appreciate it, that's how delusional he is.

LOTR had years of pre-production and production.

The dwarf that headbutted the orc has a piece of axe stuck on his head, hence the reason why he only talks in the Dwarvish language throughout the trilogy. It would seem that axe piece also got stuck on that orc when he headbutted it.

That dwarf in particular has a large piece of metal sticking out of his head, which is why they get stuck like that. My problem is that the tone is all over the place, its a serious battle and you have dwarfs clowning around, and the size of the piece of metal wouldnt allow the Orc to hang on that long.

If you watch this movie as something that isnt suppose to be Lord of the Rings its just a fantasy action movie with no real point, try and keep that mindset if you want to get anything out of it other than rage, the biggest failing of this movie is that its suppose to be the Hobbit, and its just pure schlock. Clearly was trying to be bigger and more epic that Lord of the Rings but it just didnt work at all.
>>
>>70825900
Thats actually pretty cool, shame about the movie its used in, it doesnt feel right at all.
>>
>>70828584

>>
>>70828334
>gore and blood flying around
>fuckers getting minced on screen
>kids movie
I dont want to see this argument anymore, since this was the real intention and just failed. If this was just some stupid action movie like this guy said >>70828584 this mightve been great, not as a Lord of the Rings tie in, thats why it falls on its face. A violent campy fantasy action movie wouldve been fantastic.
>>
>>70828729
The Extended cut of Battle of the Five Armies is rated R for some stupid fucking reason. I guess they thought adding a bunch of gore would make it seem more adult?
>>
>>70828689
Yes the movie wouldve been better if it was actually about the Hobbit. Such a fucking shame, he did a really good job with the character and its pushed aside for CGI action scenes. the best scenes in all Hobbit movies happen to be the scenes where 2 character are just talking, see the Gollum scene in the first one, that was fantastic, it shouldve been as smart as that throughout, but it shits the bed and turns into an action scene right after.
>>
>>70824427

It is literally the worst scene in all of hobbit 3
>>

Because atleast The Hobbit had good acting, great music and sets/armor that didn't look like they were created by cosplayers and toddlers.

Also, there were numerous quality scenes buried beneath all the filler, unlike Warcraft.
