I've been looking for some good new comedy movies to watch, but every time I refer to the internet, I'm met with the same movies that are admittedly pretty funny I guess, but rarely GOAT funny. Airplane, Animal House, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Happy Gilmore, Caddyshack?
Are these really what people consider the funniest of all time? I'm talking jokes-per-capita, and most of the movies they list just don't really cut it.
To me the funniest movie ever made is Tropic Thunder. but it NEVER makes these lists.
What are some movies with the biggest laughs that somehow manage to go under the critical radar. Usually when I comedy movie tanks with critics, I go and see it because it's the jokes that matter. Not the plot.

Was it actually good? I really don't like their show, but I know the two are capable of good sketches from their MADtv days. Considering this is their first movie, they've probably been writing it for a while, so it must be well-polished script at the very least.

Because what people find funny is extremely subjective. Some people find dick-fart humor hilarious and others find it juvenile. Some people find the new breed of beta humor amazing, others hate it.
Same thing with horror. What scares or creeps out one person may make another laugh. If you don't believe in the supernatural, you aren't going to find demon/ghost movies scary. If you aren't grossed out by gore, you won't be disturbed by torture-porn type movies.

I really loved smoking some joints and watching Stephen Chow's earlier films on netflix. The only dud in the films availible is the last one about the hitman, the rest are choice.
