What the hell is that supposed to mean, "Anti-smoking" film ? I seriously don't know why Keau shies away from making the sequel. This is pretty awesome film. I wasn't much of this particular comic reader back then, but I thought it would've been much better if the obstacles, he faces, obtained more personal grudge over what they may left behind because of him being an exorcist.

Wait now. Didn't him being a long-time smoker unintentionally give him an ironic bargaining gambit with Lucifer and a second opportunity to redeem his soul in the afterlife? Or was this purely coincidental and unfortunate for the Devil due to divine intervention. Have I forgotten the ending of this movie? Anyway, I think it was more used as a conveniently politically correct plot point to end a movie about a comic book character who chain smokes.
