>Kniazev arranges for one of the criminals that Batman has branded to be killed in prison, and anonymously mails Clark the pictures. Clark later interviews the man's girlfriend outside of the Gotham City Police Department, and she claims Batman is beyond reason and can only be stopped through force.
>Kahina finds out she's under Kniazev's surveillance and reveals the truth about Luthor's plans to Senator Finch before being ambushed by Kniazev at a train station and thrown into the path of a moving train.
>Senator Finch calls for the Congress hearing in order to expose Luthor as the mastermind behind the conspiracy, but Luthor anticipates this and has her killed in the bombing beforehand.
>Superman helping evacuate the injured from the Congress after the explosion. Once he realizes the extend of the damage, he flies away.
>Lois asks Jenet (Jena Malone), a S.T.A.R. Labs forensic analyst, for help studying the bullet recovered from Kniazev's gun in Africa. Jenet determines that the bullet and Wallace Keefe's new wheelchair were made from the same metal manufactured by LexCorp, and the chair had been lead-lined to prevent Superman from seeing the explosive.
>Luthor plants anti-Superman imagery and chemical components for explosives at Keefe's apartment to paint him as a suicidal extremist, but Lois finds fresh groceries at Keefe's fridge, pointing to the fact he didn't plan to commit suicide at the hearing.
>Batman leaves Martha with the GCPD after rescuing her from Kniazev and his men.
>Luthor is captured by the United States military while communicating with Steppenwolf through the Kryptonian scout ship.
>The entire population of Metropolis attends Superman's funeral, while Perry White and the staff of the Daily Planet attend Clark Kent's funeral in Smallville, which is paid for by Bruce.
>Batman confronts Luthor in jail, where Luthor celebrates that he's been declared insane and won't stand trial, instead being transferred to a comfortable psychiatric hospital. Batman has antecipated this and arranged for Luthor to be institutionalized at Arkham Asylum so he can keep an eye on Luthor.
