She's been spending this whole season trying to build a coalition with Olenna and the Small Council. The only reason their conspiracy to use the Tyrell army against the Faith Militant was because Cersei causing the situation in the first place and having a reputation for betraying the shit out of everyone left her with no allies on the Small Council and almost no friends in high places in King's Landing, so by time the threat of Margaery's walk came up and she could finally get them to cooperate and put a plan in action it was too little too late and they got outplayed by the High Sparrow.
We've had political intrigue and what we're seeing now is the culmination of all that plotting and scheming and betrayal blowing up in her face.
Before Season 6 started, we knew we'd start off with several plots:

Now, season 6 came, and we had a Riverrun plotline (now resolved), and a Riverlands plotline (now going north). We had Theon go to the Iron Isles and that was a brief plotline (unresolved, heading east), and we had Sansa go north, Jon resurrect, and with Davos and Melisandre and Brienne joining them for a northern plotline to merge with the Bolton one. Brienne's side of this plot finished, and the main northern plot will be resolved by the end of this season.
Now, if the leaks are all true, this means that the King's Landing plotline is abruptly ending in a massive bang of wildfire at the end of the season.
This means, Season 7 seems to only really have TWO plotlines.

the only outliers being Arya's return and Samwell in Oldtown.
