I'm just making the point, and I've said it numerous times over at least the last few weeks, that Jaime's arc in the books relies almost exclusively on his internal monologue, and that that shit is incredibly fucking difficult to reflect on screen. If GoT was like The Sopranos and Jaime was its Tony, then it could probably be done. With Jaime just one character in an ongoing rotation of many, not a fucking prayer.
I know it's dumb to be like WELL YOU DO BETTER THEN but have you ever sat down and thought about how to preserve Jaime's arc? Just making it 'not Cersei' isn't enough, how do we depict his reflections on the privations of war suffered by the smallfolk? Via quips with Bronn? How exactly do we intimate that the babbychet line is a bluff? Have a third party there question him afterwards? It's just not easy to do it well, and I don't think it's possible to do it well as part of an ensemble piece.
