I haven't seen it yet but I'll probably go for it as my next Godard. Seems interesting enough and has both Jean Pierre Leaud and Juliet Berto so that atleast sounds promising. Still somewhat torn about Godard

well it's the only godard film i like, no disrespect to weekend which is incredible, but does almost nothing for me
cool that you have tsai ming liang and hsiao hsien on your chart
also, Mekas is really something else, isn't he?
the only one i don't recognize from your chart is bottom middle
>>

Link while I'm making my own
>>
>>70753352
How many have you seen? Weekend is so far the only Godard I loved, the rest have been OK at best. Of what I'd seen I'd put Weekend first and then maybe Alphaville and probably 2 Or 3 Things I Know About Her afterwards but the rest didn't do much for me.

What Mekas should I watch next? Only seen As I Was Moving Ahead.

Also bottom middle is Beware Of A Holy Whore by Fassbinder

Middle left is Night of the Hunter, yeah. I've seen Seventh Seal, Wild Strawberries, and Persona. I think Wild Strawberries is ultimately a better film than Seventh Seal but I have a personal attachment to Seventh Seal.

Thats sum tasty /trash/ m8

Which of them are 2deep4u? All of those films are incredibly straightforward.

Nice taste, you'd probably like Zulawski's Third Part Of The Night and Hou Hsiao-Hsien's A City Of Sadness

>>70753791
Check out Cries & Whispers next, it's quite different from what you've already seen but without a doubt Bergman's best and possibly Sven Nykvist's best work

Ok my man no worries
I haven't seen knight of cups but I see it's highly adored in these threads
Will probably watch it soon
>>
>>70760238
>>70760266

I really love Deren, so that makes me want to check it out even more

And yea, KoC is definitely my favorite Malick after rewatching it, and revisiting his earlier works numerous times. Alot of people i know said it had to grow on them, but soon ranked highly among their favorites of his
>>
>>70760362
How do you feel about ken Jacobs?
Or Kurt kren?

>>70760466
i've only seen the georgetown loop by jacobs, none by kren. if you want to drop a few of your faves ill def check them out

not bad honestly
>>
>>70760782
Well I'm not too fond of a lot of experimental cinema, but I figured you may find them interesting
I'd recommend little stabs at happiness and star spangled to death from Jacobs
And self immolation (I think that's what it's called) from kren
I think brakhage is very interesting and I like some of his works, plus he kinda created Bruce baillie, so yeah, brakhage is essential
I don't think I've watched anything from frampton, anything you'd rec from him
Also i really recommend you watch
The secret formula
>>
>>70760996
I;ve added your recs to my watchlist

as for Frampton, i'd check out Surface Tension and Manual of Arms. Both are insaely experimental, so if thats not your cup of tea then i feel alot of his work wont be at all. But to each his own!

Im gonna go get drunk, you can find me on letterboxd at /KagsMagnus if you have an account. Thanks for the recs my man
>>
>>70760868
Shame, Under the Skin, Black Swan, and An American Werewolf in London have all been on my 3x3 before in previous years. Not bad yourself.

Oh and it's actually 5/5 I just realized bottom middle is Mouchette.
>>
>>70760996
What's some essential Brakhage outside of Dog Star Man, Mothlight and Window Water? Also how do you guys feel about watching Brakhage with music? That is playing music of your own choice

>>70761177
Solid chart I was going to watch Norte tonight but I went with World On A Wire instead
>>
>>70761422
Seen both bby but thanks lad, you got good taste
>>70761629
Sounds cool watching his images while listening to music of your choice
I'd rec act of seeing with ones own eyes, the one with child birth, mothlight
Or just his longer projects
What kinda music do you listen to?
>>
>>70761629
World on a Wire is great too hope you enjoy it.
>>
>>70761754
I want to do it since I think it can, at times, add a lot to his films but then again I feel like its betraying his choice of having his films be silent.
I should get on The Act Of Seeing honestly. I think child birth might be Window Water Baby Moving.
Lately been listening to a bunch of japanese noise rock, Fushitsusha and Les Rallizes Denudes mainly. Also bunch of nostalgic summery stuff

>>70761785
Just finished it. Great stuff, probably my second favorite Fassbinder after Berlin Alexanderplatz
