So many problems indeed:

>So many plotholes such as how the Empire were able to build a massive Death Star carved into a planet in only 30 years when all the Empire were defeated
>Movie should have began when Kylo was dropped off at Luke's Jedi Academy: as we get to know him more and why he joined the dark side
But of course due to JJ wanting to make an absolute copy of A New Hope: we had to begin the movie with Kylo in the mask and Stormtroopers massacring an area just like A New Hope begins

>JJ should have gone with the original script idea where Luke is met earlier in the film and Rey and Luke go on adventures together as they track down ancient artifacts - this then would have let Luke come face to face with Han and eventually Leia and all 3 of the original team would have been reunited
>Rey is a Mary Sue: absolutely makes no sense with how she knows everything about the force; is able to do Jedi mind tricks without anyone teaching her... if JJ filmed a scene with her reading a book about the Jedi myths or about Han explaining to her about the force then it would have all made sense - only way for it to now make sense is if Rey is a reincarnation of Anakin which explains why all powers come easy to her
>Luke would never abandon all his friend and begin a hermit (again JJ is doing this just so Episode 8 is exactly like ESB with Rey going to be trained with a Yoda like wise Jedi).

Not that anon but in spite of how boring it was, the movie fell short because it jumped from action sequence to action sequence without time to breath and know the characters. Typical ADHD narrative for the youtube generation.

It was too 'clean'.
There are no natural feeling background things that can be looked at on your 30th watch through.

at its best it was a soulless homage to the original trilogy.
at its worst it felt like terrible fanfiction written by some 13 year old who just saw new hope for the first time
it's not a bad movie per say, it's just entirely forgettable and did little to interest me in the overarching plot of the trilogy

Failed world building - important stuff was not explained, in contrast to EP4-6 where not explained stuff implied a certain size of the world off-screen and was not relevant at all.
Failed scenery - The village in the middle part felt like taken from some JRPG, other parts were unnatural
Characters - Rey and the nigger have no inner consistency. I have no problem with the main characters being over powered or having a stupid motivation, but they act self-contradictory
Too many references to other episodes. The whole Falcon stuff was stupid and unnecessary
The map was retarded, the first part contained like 10% of the galaxy, that's like giving someone a map of new york and claiming he can't find central park because he doesn't have the map of the US

The third death star was unecessary over the top desu.
But overall it was a competently made flick, great to watch.
