Can we all agree this is now the best superhero trilogy?
>>70750643
Here's your (you)
>>70750643
I don't see a trilogy, I see two Captain America movies and an Avengers movie.
>>70750714
Its about Captain America though. Why dont you explain how him living with the Avengers and being the leader could be avoided in a solo movie after that was established then?
>the movies are not connected enough
>Why dont they just call the avengers lol
>wtf why is it an avengers movie
>>70750643
No.
They're as dull and unoriginal as they come.
Cynical, manipulative cashgrabs should be judged as such, no matter what Daddy Mickey Mouse told you.
>>70750643
TDK, Spiderman, maybe even X-Men are all on the same tier tbqh.
>>70750643
Winter Soldier is the only semi-decent one, because of the references to Operation Paperclip, and it's still ruined by utterly idiotic moments like Cap hiding sensitive SHIELD data in a fucking vending machine like a goddamn retard.
The best superhero trilogy is Snyder's Man of Steel, Batman v Superman and Justice League, even though Justice League isn't out yet, the first two movies are the two best capeshit films ever made.
Nolan's Batman trilogy is pretty good though.
>>70750643
What are we comparing it to? Iron Man, Soider-Man, TMNT, that's about it in terms of trilogies, right?
>>70750643
Batman Begins > The First Avenger
The Dark Knight = The Winter Soldier
Civil War > The Dark Knight Rises
I agree OP. But only barely.
>>70751116
X-Men, I guess... is it just those five trilogies, though?
>>70751122
I really feel like Dark Knight Rises is just a massive piece of shit that ends everything on a sour note. So even though I love the Dark Knight i would never say its a great trilogy.
>>70750643

>>70750643
Batman Begins > First Avenger
The Dark Knight > Winter Soldier
The Dark Knight Rises = Civil War
Definitely Batman trilogy is better.
>>70751240
I dont see how anyone can say the Dark Knight Rises is better. Compare the central conflict of the third acts of both alone and its an obvious choice to me. There is nothing really compelling about a timed bomb that doesn't really make sense in the first place, there is no emotional weight to Talia's laughable death scene, the fist fight between Batman and Bane is just tiresome and boring, Bane is not really that interesting of a character and his death is also laughable. But im sure I wont change your mind on it, thats just how I feel.
The Dark Knight: 7.3/10 Average
X-Men Prequels: 7.3/10 Average
Blade: 6/10 Average
X-Men Originals: 6/10 Average
Iron Man: 6/10 Average
Captain America: 6/10 Average
Spider-Man: 5.7/10 Average
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: 5/10 Average
>>70751431
>I dont see how anyone can say the Dark Knight Rises is better. Compare the central conflict of the third acts of both alone and its an obvious choice to me.
>if you ignore two-thirds of the movies then this one is better
>>70751504
no I said if you compare the conflicts of the third act that is an example of why I like one more than the other, at no point did I say to ignore the rest of both and if you got that you're either illiterate or intentionally misinterpreting it to come off as smug.
>>70751431
There is nothing as compelling in the Captain America trilogy as Bruce's arc in The Dark Knight Rises needing to regain his sense of fear and his will to live to escape the prison.
Batman Begins = Bruce overcoming his fear and using it to get over his parents death
The Dark Knight Rises = Bruce needing to regain his fear because it's intimately associated with the will to live.
>>70751616
I respect why someone would feel that way but the emotional weight of that aspect did not effect me as much because of the constant flaws the movie shoves in my face throughout. The third act of Captain America CW on the other hand is 100% about the characters emotions, how they're all being emotionally compromised by vengeance with no dumb shit like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7PWJD_uCkK8 which is the kind of thing that ruins TDKR for me. Unfortunately the entire movie isn't solely just about Bruce's arc and none of the other characters get such a treatment.
>>70750932
They paid RDJ more than Evans in a Captain America movie(xd)
>>70751803
>The third act of Captain America CW on the other hand is 100% about the characters emotions, how they're all being emotionally compromised by vengeance
Other than Black Panther, all of this came out of nowhere and there was zero character growth.
Bruce's arc had been building for three films.
>>70751122
>TDK on par with TWS
kys senpai
>>70751999
They paid Jack Nicholson more than Keaton in Batman. Still a Batman movie.
>>70750643
>marvel fanboy
>>70751122
>The Dark Knight = The Winter Soldier
Jesus fucking christ almighty
>>70751431
Cinematography wise, TDKR is superior. All real locales and an abundance of practical effects. Its a gorgeous looking movie.
Story wise, definitely Civil War.
The airport scene is overrated.
>>70751122
>The Dark Knight = The Winter Soldier
>>70752027
Actually Tony's grief over his parents has been building since Iron Man 2, I dont see how that is coming out of nowhere.
>>70752193
I dont care if its overrated I think it's incredible.
>>70752064
>disney shills are paid to pretend to believe this
>>70752235
>Actually Tony's grief over his parents has been building since Iron Man 2, I dont see how that is coming out of nowhere.
How so? It's been awhile since I've seen it.
>>70751478
>Spider-Man: 5.7/10 Average
fuck off
>>70752591
Yeah, 8+6+3
Why, what would you give them?
TFA: snooze fest and also bombed at the box office
TWS: 6/10 quite alright
CW: more an Avengers movie, Cap was awful in it
the actor in general is terrible wooden, they should just kill the character and let the black guy be Captain America, at least he has some charisma
>>70752441
Its about him forgiving his father
>>70750643
we cant even agree that its a trilogy.
>>70752750
don't you have a bull to prep?
>>70751188
I heard Nolan wanted to end it with TDK and the reason Rises sucked was it was never intended?
I mean if it had been a duology it would have ended better.
>>70751082
>Spiderma
>X men
What , beginning good and ended like shit
>>70751616
You are biased.
>>70751999
Brando made more than Reeve. No point to your troll.
1 cap
2 capvengers
>>70751122
>The Dark Knight = The Winter Soldier
(You)
Nolan's Batman has better highs (TDK), but Cap has a better progression (they've only been getting better).
>>70754527
I'm down with this.
>>70752661
The first two movies were great and the third was ok.
>>70750643
I don't see how its better than The Dark Knight trilogy at all.
I would say its probably on par with the Raimi Spider-man trilogy though, just kinda in reverse.
>>70750643
Yes
>>70750643
first avenger is actually very good
winter soldier is a fucking mess
no idea about the other one. dropped it with that ws bullshit.
>>70751084
>The best superhero trilogy is Snyder's Man of Steel, Batman v Superman and Justice League, even though Justice League isn't out yet, the first two movies are the two best capeshit films ever made.
literally kill yourself
>>70751029
Second one is kinda fun
>>70756096
>first avenger is actually very good
no it really isn't. how many fucking movies have you seen, 5?
>>70751084
>films
They're cinema
>>70751084
since there's gonna be Justice League 1 & 2 it doesn't classify as a trilogy.
>>70751122
>The Dark Knight = The Winter Soldier
Alright look, Winter Soldier is great and by far the best MCU movie, but it's still not on the level of TDK.
>>70754527
>(they've only been getting better).
TWS was better than Civil War.
>>70752027
>>70751803
Fools, the main theme wasn't vengeance, it was coping with a loss. The third act was a result of not doing it.
>>70750643
CIVIL BRAWL
THE BATTLE FOR BUCKY'S ASS
>>70752761
>>70751084
>The best superhero trilogy is Snyder's Man of Steel, Batman v Superman and Justice League, even though Justice League isn't out yet, the first two movies are the two best capeshit films ever made.
>>70750643
It's at least the most consistent, with only the first one being kinda flawed.
It really doesn't feel like a trilogy though, with the way Civil War was basically an Avengers movie.
>>70751084
>The best superhero trilogy is Snyder's Man of Steel, Batman v Superman and Justice League, even though Justice League isn't out yet, the first two movies are the two best capeshit films ever made.
jesus christ
>>70750643
Yes. With time, people will appreciate First Avenger more.
>>70756943

Easily the best trilogy.
The only good superhero trilogy is Dark Knight.
that shit doesn't matter though because Superman 1 and 2, Spider-Man 1 and 2, and X-Men 1 and 2 are all better anyways.
>>70751084
>>70751122
You both make me sick
Great group of children's films.

He's right tho.
>>70750643
It might have been a good trilogy if it wasn't that Civil War needs AoU so it's not really a stand alone trilogy. You could make the argument of which is more relevant, Avengers or AoU to Cap's trilogy but you need one of them for the full story and at that point you might as well watch both Avengers movies.
Now, because characters like Spider-Man and Black Panther were put into CW without real set up, you could argue characters like Vision and Wanda are fine just showing up in CW. I wouldn't totally disagree, but that's not my point.
My argument is more about needing at least one movie with Iron Man in it to make Civil War feel whole, so you need at least 1 Avengers movie if not both. Even the Iron Man trilogy needs Avengers 1 for Iron Man 3 to make sense.
If you want to follow one character in the MCU, I think you need to watch the team-ups they're in along with their solo movies.
>>70750643
No because the first one is fucking garbage
It is an absolute miracle that Winter Soldier and Civil War could be based around a character who's first solo outing was trash, and who was literally nobodies favorite in the Avengers.
>>70760718
He has actual character development in the first Avengers, the events of AOU matter but not the actual movie overall because he has no development in it. It is a weird situation but I like it.
>>70751084
I was even agreeing with you until
>Snyder
>And not even an actual trilogy
>>70750643
doesn't stand a chance against batman, even though it had tdkr
>>70763541
It was Peru all along!
>>70756890
I feel like this image always takes too long to unpack visually desu
>>70750643
Last one should have been called...
Marvel's Civil War or Avengers: Civil War.
