Anyone remember a short-lived hacker TV series from maybe the late 80s. The one scene I remember is when someone is departing on a jetliner and the hackers for some reason need to prevent them from leaving and they hack into the airport's computer and instruct the pilot to return to the gate.

This was 2005~ or so but..

Ran a clan website for my friends clan.. had a gallery up.. tons of people from the game registered..

ended up getting banned from competition site.. TWL.. noticed one of the admins registered on my website.. could his password be in the database? of course, but it's probably hashed. Nope, It was plaintext.

Went into admin on TWL website and fucked everything up, literally killed the ladder of the game we played.

Another time I ran a script from milw0rm on VBulletin forums of a rival clan for banning all my clan members from their servers.. eventually the dictionary attack found the password and I'd periodically do little things to their website making them lose their minds.

Yea I was a huge script kiddie

I was born in 1985. I even offered the math in my post. I was 10-11 when I saw it when it came out on VHS, it came out in 1995.

How did you fuck that up?

The movie is so bad it's failed to even take on a Troll 2-esque so-bad-it's-good reputation. It's mostly ignored and you rarely see images from on imageboards or text references. It's garbage.

It's a cult classic and people discuss it all the time. Almost everyone I know who grew up in the nineties remembers it fondly and knows at least one quote from it.

It's a film about hackers as imagined by Normies, made for Normies, ridden with clichés, a plot as flatter as a pancake and terrible acting, glossed over with stupendous graphics. Wow, so cool and complex and edgy, whereas in reality it has no substance at all.
I hated Hackers when it came out, and I still do.

If you want to see an actually good film about hacking, watch "23" (1998, Germany). It manages to be quite accurate, conveys a non-trivial AND is gripping at the same time.

Hackers is 0/10 pure trash garbage. I hate it so much.

I think we all know that this movie has nothing to do with real world hacking. But this doesn't make it a bad movie.
If you want to see a movie about how hacking I suggest that you maybe google some documentaries.
Because you know, documentaries are the kind of movies that are ment to teach and inform.
But movies in general (which also means movies like this one) about enertainment and that's it.
