It uses the unused score from The Thing and various bits from Exorcist 2 IIRC. Carpenter's Prince of Darkness also has a similar mood. So look into horror movies dealing with paranoia, Polanski's films etc.
A lot of gialli have similar music, from Morricone or others. Look into Argento. He also loves to moves his camera slowly to build tension.

Movies with similar feel in another genre are "inn" movies from King Hu: Dragon Gate Inn, Come Drink With Me (QT was supposed to do a remake), Raining in the Mountain. Also the 90's remake of Dragon Gate Inn produced by Tsui Hark or the Swordsman series.
Bleak spaghetti westerns like The Great Silence.
Classic westerns like Day of the Outlaw, also set during a snow storm.
And obviously Reservoir Dogs.
