Things really kick off in episode 5 but those first few episodes aren't bad, just slanted (the only actually bad part is a shitty piece of dialogue from Will in the catacombs). The only thing not to look forward to from there are the dragon effects, Dolarhyde is the best villain of the whole series and the adaptation is incredible.

If there's one thing I really disliked about this series, is how they started overusing shit that became popular.

Sure, it's slower then the previous seasons but I loved the ultra-stylish Italian fairytale opening, Hannibal being a cheeky fucker, touching send-off to qt Abigail, Jack/Hannibal rematch, Mason's rape-dungeon and the tearful goodbye between Will and Hannibal
Red Dragon was pretty much the same old show with Mads being great as incarcerated Hannibal and Armitage being an incrdible Red Dragon

If you like Fuller's shit you should also check out Dead Like Me and Wonderfalls. The former is GOAT and the latter is a fun early work of his. Don't watch the Dead Like Me movie though. While the show is still good after he stopped being involved, the movie is insulting in how dreadful it is.
