I thought it fit perfect. The devil is not suppose to be a goat or a person or a snake or whatever. The devil is a fallen angel which can be pretty much any form it chooses.
I thought one of the more interesting subtle things is when you see it walk behind her you see a goat leg, a human leg and another human leg showing it kind of transform before your eyes. Also he did need to guide her hand cause the bitch can't write. Better to be in human form for that.
