Expected much more after the raving reviews this has received. It was basically a well shot boxing movie. The theme of return to the homeland and the effect of rapid industrialization progress was underdeveloped.
Rocco best brother
Rota's score was great

Ya my netflix list is getting long too, too bad they keep deleting the movies i want to watch before i can watch them.
>>70682715
You expect to be at the right mood in order to give the film your undivided attention before watching, correct?
>>70683122
Ideally yes

I'm working on a short film.
this thread makes me sad. I thought there were more people on /tv/ that are into actual cinema and not just blockbuster capeshit stuff.
Guess we cant have true /film/ country after all.

watching films on youtube is anathema to /FILM/
I've heard Satantango must be viewed in a theater. I haven't seen it at all but want to. Should I just go ahead and watch it on my TV, or should I wait for a screening? I'm not even sure when that might be. I live in NYC, but there aren't currently any screenings.

>start a movie
>it's interesting and I want to see where it leads
>not entirely "into" it, like I'm just looking at the screen instead of being immersed
>feel like I'm not getting the best experience
>can force myself to maybe the 40 minute mark before quitting
9 times out of 10 this happens. It's so hard to really open up and let the movie happen

Yo, gonna be going to film school in the next couple years, working on my first short film with a budget planning to shoot next spring. What are you guys working on/plans for the future/thoughts on filmmaking in general?
I just watched Dead Ringers I really enjoyed it, it's the only Cronenberg movie I've seen besides some of Dead Zone which of his movies should I watch next?
>>70692466
the only source for that on home video is the 2000s era DVD which is ancient and blurry as shit.
I've only watched the first disc because of this. A real theatrical print is pretty much the only way I would see the rest.
>>70692495
what kind of movies?
>>70692937
Generally any time I try to watch a "serious" movie and not some popcorn shit. Just can't muster that emotional energy for it
>>70683529
That movie didn't quite deliver to it's first half, I was soorly dissapointed with that end to be honest.
Would love to see more math driven cool looking films tho. Any recs?

Dude leave movies alone for a while, get into reading, music or whatever. Then you'll hear the siren call of edited images and you'll be more than happy to give a few hours of your day to a movie.
