I'm not a /pol/tard and I genuinely believe some Jews died in the holocaust, but honestly I don't care how good a movie is, I've reached the point where any holocaust related shit on tv always pisses me because I know Israel is just gonna use it to cover their crimes.
It was basically a 3 hour: "This is why we need Israel".
I'm not even /pol/, but this movie was very poorly paced.
Most Spielberg movies have pacing issues honestly. Guy needs a better editor.
It does have a powerful atmosphere though.

I think i fell asleep. Barely even remember this borefest. The only parts i liked were the scenes with the camp commander. Also, it being in black and white was dumb and yes i know the reasoning behind it blah blah. Anyway, this was overrated trash just like Crash
I thought the costumes and set design were amazing. Really did a good job establishing atmosphere

The direction of the movie is really good; lots of great visual communication, but there is absolutely no nuance applied to the Nazi soldiers. They're all portrayed as cackling monsters.
And before anyone points to Schindler, he was an opportunist, not a real Nazi.
There are lots of depictions of outright sadism from the Nazi soldiers, other than Goeth, who's depiction was correct, throughout the movie. They are like laughing hyenas from start to finish. They laugh as they burn the massive pile of bodies, as they raid the ghetto, as they clear out the ghetto that night, as the Poles moan in the trains, as they hunt the kids, as they make the prisoners do circuits.
It's tiresome. It'd be a far more interesting to show men that didn't derive such pleasure from these actions but did them anyway.

Giving people power over other people's lives will do that to them. Not to mention the Nazi soldiers were constantly on drugs (amphetamines) to enhance their performance. But also they showed the slow descent into madness from being surrounded by death 24/7, remember that one Nazi soldier manically shooting his gun into the burning pile of bodies.
And the Nazi soldiers in the factory at the end were not caricatures at all, they all just walked away even though they had orders to kill everyone, even the leader.

True I guess in that it's a valid criticism of the theatrical nature of the setting (but c'mon it's Spielberg), but on the other hand the soldiers are from Goeth's einsatzgruppen instead of some random fighting unit and so I don't think it stretches believability that they're all quite happy to kill Jews and have a good time with the lads while doing so.
