Those were plot points that led to his redemption arc, a redemption arc that (unless the trailers for next week are misleading) isn’t going to happen.
Instead of allowing Jamie to become the complex sort of anti-hero that he became in the book. The show has instead decided to keep him as a flat villain, who learned absolutely nothing from his time as a captive, who learned nothing about the struggles of a disability after losing his hand, who never learned what a toxic person his sister was after spending time and opening up to Brienne.
Who’s fucking bright idea was it to cut out a complex story arc in favor of twincest? The reason stannis death didn't follow the spirit of the book or the series is because of the complecation with riverrun. The reason lady stone heart was scrapped was because they intended on doing away with the riverrun scene thus getting rid of stoneheart. Since river run is back on the table so does the possibility of stoneheart. And the behaviour of the brotherhood only furthers that.
Stannis I'm guessing would have been the filler if river run was to not happen. Still it be cool if brienne forsaked personal vengeance and remained true to her duty.

In the books the dreadfort is like some fucked up draculas castle. Vlad the impaler style, with death everywhere. Theres a chance roose has lived a long life like a vampire, not by drinking blood but siphoning blood from himself like a reverse vampire.
