Nope. Dry humor does not count as quips. GOTG actually had some smart humor to it.. It just wasn't delivered by Star Lord.
The "over my head" joke was the best bit of comedy in the film.
I also loved the Baskin Robbins stuff from Ant-Man.

quips are hard to define, you kind of just know when its a quip
general guidlines involve a snarky comment or joke that the dialogue flows unnaturally into and out of and feel generally out of place in the dialogue, they're almost always something you could never see a real person saying in that situation (unless its a quip lover).
Basically Quips are always very short throwaway lines but rather than being a natural progression to the dialogue and based on some in-film development, feel out of place, as if they were written by a computer then randomly inserted into the movie.

Its was angry DC fans call jokes or funny dialog in their movies. They feel capshit has to be serious business.
Consequently they also can't understand why garbage like MoS and BvS isn't well received and so their 13 year old brains blame it on the critics not being smart enough to "get it." And feel Marvel films are only successful because of the funny bits of dialog that they call "quips" that dumb people can latch on to.
