It might be cool if they stuck to the Brood War gritty sci-fi tone instead of the shitty SC2 tone. SC1 had cinematics straight out of Aliens. I honestly can't believe how bad Blizzard storytelling has gotten over the years.

i thought the SC and BW campaigns were the peak of sci-fi and would have made fantastic movies. SC2 felt like the straight to video CG knockoff that was the same basic concept but with tropes instead of writing and plot fucked with in order to make gimmicky single player levels
on a serious note tho, can we all agree that anything other than pic related as kerrigan would be a tragic mistake?

This. Of course the writing is minimal as a vidya story but the basic script is legitimately good.
I don't see how they would mimic the exposition in the briefing rooms though.
Also hate to say this but the whole thing is off the current (((Zeitgeist))). Space flicks are now about pandering to reddit, not killing aliens.
Kerrigan is the only female and is a secondary character that you see a few minutes as human. As a Zerg, she's deformed enough not to be feminine at all in her SC1 design.
There is no romantic or family subplot. While technological innovation plays a big part in the story, it's not done in the Ifuckinglovescience/TBBT way people have unfortunately been accustomed with.
