Shouldn't have been called 10 Cloverfield Lane. Seems like that was just to gain attention, because you immediately know there's a threat outside. Loved the tense, intimate drama between the few people there, and the hysteria was good, but it would have been better if you actually questioned the truth of why she was there.
The post box being knocked over with Cloverfield Lane on it seemed like it was supposed to reveal the universe connection, but it didn't do that, it seemed pointless. Again, seems like it wasn't supposed to be titled 10 Cloverfield Lane. Also, the alien was dogshit. Really enjoyed it until the end.

if you watch movies for the "big reveal" be it a monster, a twist, an epic fight, or whatever, you're either watching shitty movies 24/7, or doing it wrong.
the movie had the "cloverfield" name hamfisted because the director was friends with JJ.abrahams and the plot had a vague "alien invasion" thing going on, although it's kind of a twist that drags on for too long.
The movie could've ended with herseeing the alien ship dropping that thing during sunset and her saying "oh come on!"

Every little aspect of the movie is set up to a fault. They even have a conversation about knocking a shelf over near the start of the movie just so it "makes sense" when the girl knocks a shelf over on John Goodman later, who needed that?
Yet they don't set up him being a serial killer, or explain any part of it after the earring, or even have the woman tell him she knows.
It's too meticulous as the start and rushed at the end.

Originally the ending was supposed to be herseeing everything was normal outside of the bunker. then getting in howard's truck and driving home. but when she gets to chicago, it's in rubble - implying the Cloverfield monster had been there.

Mary sue protag was annoying. It was like she was fucking MacGyver at the start of the movie, except she had no reason to be that capable. Other than that I thought it was a let down in general.
