>post how you view your glorious kino
Pic related is my kinoplayer, hooked up to a 60 in Samsung plasma.
No laptops plz.
Same thread every day. What a boring cunt the op is.

>he doesn't have a kinoplayer

Here's mine.

I just have my computer connected directly to my tv via hdmi, using Kodi, controlled by Yatse on my Android phone
>>70603626
>I just have my computer connected directly to my tv via hdmi
this isn't 2005, anon
>>70603602
That's a pretty solid box, anon.
>>70602862
I have a 42in television and an extensive collection of blurays and dvds
>>70602862
This is the ugliest piece of technology I have ever seen
It looks like a disgusting mix of Chinese knockoff, preschool play thing, and I don't even know what else
>>70602862
I watch my yifys on my smartphone while I commute in train.
>>70604166
>an extensive collection of blurays and dvds
mental illness can be cured, anon
>>70604277
i work in the film industry, i dont pirate
in a small media player window whilst I browse this shit website
>>70602862
I have a custom made HTPC with Kodi and Steam. It's got a 750ti and an i3. Pretty good at games. TV is a 40 inch LED LCD, and the surround amp is 725 watts with two 100 watt subwoofers.
>>70602862
>plasma
Wew lad.
>>70605380
You can put Android TV on that pretty soon.
What's the cheapest way to stream media from my PC to a television downstairs?
I was using my X360 and XBMC but windows 10 doesn't support it and my X360 is being temperamental all of a sudden.
Thinking about a Chromecast but not sure of the quality of wireless streaming and mkvs are apparently dodgy on it.
This is what I use for Kino.
i bought a mede8er to watch shit on
installing it was an absolute bitch and the remote doesn't work for shit (keys stick like crazy)
but apart from that it does what it should
Plex is fucking fantastic, my friends get to stream off of my server too, it's nice.
>>70605617
A really, really long hdmi cable. Only logical solution
>>70602862
I use the same except my dog at my remote so I use the phone app...which is serviceable.
>>70606231
>A really, really long hdmi cable
how embarrassing
>>70605328
>two subs
wew lad
One of these little beauties and an Emby/Kodi combo controlled with my phone.

Stupid idiot

>has a giant cable snaking all over the living room
>calls other people idiots
lol
42in TV with yamaha amp, 2 klipsch + 2 old jbl speakers.
Custom HTPC w/some random AMD apu in it.
>>70606610
HTPCs are overkill these days.
>>70606316
Yes, and what is your point? I live alone, I can turn it up to 11.
>>70606780
I can play or stream literally anything on mine. Why limit yourself to a tiny shitbox or stick?
Why don't you retards just buy a smart tv?
>>70606780
Not when you have enough random computer parts to throw one together. It also functions as my home server, eventually going to store it in a closet and stream to the TV.
>>70606859
I buy what my autismbux allows
>>70602862
Qbittorrent +
RSSFeeds +
Plex media server +
Roku 3
it just werks
>>70603626
>have my computer directly connected to my TV
But what about your bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen TV?
>>70606859
samsung and lg admitted they built in a thing ao governments can spy on you through the tv if you connect it to the internet and use smart features
>>70606859
Because smart tvs are for retards
>>70602862
How does the voice remote work on that?
Getting tired on manual controllers famalam might get amazon TV
>>70606859
>he fell for the smart tv meme
>>70602862
>No laptops plz.
Why not? They make those stupid little boxes obsolete. A laptop can stream wirelessly to multiple TVs at once and streamline all your media, just like a roku. And it also has the added benefit of being an actual PC.
HTPC
Synology
Plex
125" home theater screen
6.1 surround sound
comfy home theater seating
>>70605328
How do you like having two subs? I've been considering buying a second BIC F12 for a while.
>>70609806
They're only 100 watts a piece, so they're not super loud.
3D sound in something like GTA 5 or FO 4 is awesome when you get that low rumble effect. Action scenes in movies feel a little more visceral.
>>70608024
>>70609341
>>70609649
>poorfag justification
SmartTVs are fucking great.
>>70602862
I watch true cinema from a film projector in my room. Television sets are for Hollywood trash and shows.
>>70609937
>poorfag justification
Smart tvs are limited and have shitty CPUs and GPUs, not to mention that they are all botnets.
You can buy an android or windows box with great specs for around 50€, unlike a smart tv you can do whatever you want with a tv box, it has nothing to do with being poor.
Control4
>>70610068
I live secretly in an old Kino, I sleep on the unused balcony where I can watch kino for free.
>>70602862
I download stuff, stick on a USB drive, and just plug that into the TV.
Works like a charm.
RPi3 + OSMC = hella fuckin epic
>he watches streaming movies
It's like you enjoy watching 144p-tier film quality
>>70610219
or, since you already have a laptop/desktop with HDMI out, you just buy a cord.
i just use laptop. all other options are meme
>>70611016
>>70611258
>>70606830
>Why limit yourself to a tiny shitbox or stick?
Because my box plays everything your HTPC can for less money and less hassle.
>>70602862
>streams
ahahahahah
>>70609782
>A laptop can stream wirelessly to multiple TVs at once
Why would you download media to a laptop instead of your NAS, media server or any box that runs 24/7?
>>70609937
>SmartTVs are fucking great.
SmartTV's are garbage for housewives. You get a dumb display and an Android box or RasPi3 and that's it.
>>70611258
>i just use laptop
poor person detected
>>70611016
>since you already have a laptop/desktop with HDMI out, you just buy a cord.
The only cord I need is the ethernet cord attaching my torrent server to my router.
Only retards and poor people actually hook up their laptops to their TV these days.
>>70611868
I'm fucking poor and I don't do that.
I'm in a tiny student apartment but managed to put a 105" projected image in a 3x4m room. At 50 degrees FoV, it's a little much for TV shows but movies work well. I wish IMAX would hurry up and release their 3D productions on Blu-ray
>>70602862
raspberry pi with 4tb harddrive and a lg tv
>>70610348
Better than using an HDMI cable desu
My mom has a Roku in her home, but what does it actually do?
I've seen it, just never used it

Netflix, Hulu, Amazon machine.
Basically its just an easy way to watch netflix on tv without a console or a laptop
>>70611805
Yes, so?
>>70615281
>My mom has a Roku in her home, but what does it actually do?
How out of touch are you?
>>70611258
>not having you tower in the livingroom for maximum tv enjoyment

holy shit haven't seen one of those since 2009.
>>70615862

Rasberry Pi + Kodi hooked up to tv
