The first half of Doom is okay. Everything leading up to and after the first person scene is dogshit.
The problem with video game movies is that, instead of trying to be a film, they just use controlled camera angles to stylize the combat from the game. Also, pic related.

Most adaptations are hampered because videogames are an abysmal storytelling medium.

Fun fact with street fighter, Raul Julia knew he was dying by that point, and his kids loved street fighter, so he was super eager for the role and over-acted the shit out of it for them, which is why he was the best part of that movie
