I love Kevin Smith, have since Clerks. Seen all his movies listen to Smodcast and am even going to see Babble on in Boston this Friday, Hell I even enjoy Jersey girl and Cop out makes me laugh. But god damn does this film look bad. No 40+ year old man should try and write a dialogue heavy movie about teen girls because it come across as inauthentic forced and makes the audience uncomfortable. I also get wanting to make movies with your kid, some may scoff and call it nepotisim but can anyone really balme a man for wanting to do what he loves with his spawn who also loves it, its some real cat in the cradle shit. What I cant get on board with is a non actor leading a movie becuase they almost always come across as stiff and forced which Harley does in the trailer. Also Bratzies isnt an clever enough joke to hinge an entire film on. Lilly-rose looks good in it though and I know I'm going to see it out of some bizarre Smith brand loyalty so I hope all my instincts are wrong and it's actually a great Joe Danteish monster comedy.

I used to be the same way.
Loved everything he did, would buy collectables and shit, listen to every podcast, had signed memorabilia, posters on my wall.
Then one day it just died. Possibly it was the millionth time he literally cried over batman. It gets to a point where he is just so transparent. Boring, obvious and predictable.
But it's maybe just total over exposure, he clearly works hard and gives his fans everything he can. Maybe he just ran out of shit to give to me.
But I don't watch his movies, I don't listen to anything (except tell em steve dave, and even then I haven't listened in months). The only time I think of him now is to laugh at him.
I hope this happens to you too, it's a nice feeling. Like being free. I still keep my nails zippo though.
