Everyone loves ‘Back to the Future’ don’t they? But be honest, you’ve been conditioned to like this film. Do you think it’s really a good movie or is it because you watched it as a kid? Isn’t it time you dropped this “nostalgia for things that actually sucked” thing once and for all? I know this means you’ll have to throw out your Marty Mcfly “Body warmer”, but you’re a grown up now. When your dad was your age, he had a wife and 3 kids and a job where he had to wear a tie to work, while you're still a manchild obsessing over nostalgic things.

LOL OP BTFO!

Becoming an adult doesn't mean forsaking everything you liked as a child. Only bitter idiots think this.

Zemeckis knows how to make a movie anon. Youre trying too hard to be a contrarian.
>>
Sorry, OP, but I only watched patrician cinema as a kid, including BttF, so you're actually wrong. Sorry you had a stunted sense of taste and had to "move on"
>>
>>70564609
I genuinely love the film because it's inventive for it's time and holds up today by being funny.

Never understood this movie or the obsessive fanbase for it decades later.
The idea that a literal 5'4 midget Michael J Fox could be portrayed as cool and likable was even more stretching to my disbelief than the time travel

That's a nice bit of bait you got there pal.

I am in my 30's and posting this from my office.

No.It is legitimately, and objectively a great series of films.
I should know, because I was born only a few years before the first one released.

Actually, I think I agree OP, it's time to let it go.

crispin glover had a point about the end being some sort of consumerist fairy tale: the underdogs become top dogs and their happiness goes hand in hand with their new shiny toys. i remember i was not exactly impressed by the shiny new big truck reveal at the end , not jealous either: subconsciously in my kid's brain maybe i thought it was a bum note , somehow.

>When your dad was your age, he had a wife and 3 kids and a job where he had to wear a tie to work, while you're still a manchild obsessing over nostalgic things.
But I'm 18 and at my age, my dad was learning how to become an aircraft mechanic. He didn't have to wear a tie until he became a pilot, and he ended up with two kids.

>When your dad was your age, he had a wife and 3 kids and a job where he had to wear a tie to work, while you're still a manchild obsessing over nostalgic things

My dad is waaaaaaay more of a loser than I am, and I'm also only 20. He was an idiot entitled kid that never had a real job in his life, got my mom to marry him for his family's money, and when that didn't work out, he ran off to Germany. He drives cabs there I think.

I'm an army reservist on corporal pay, currently a cadet in ROTC, I'm certified to weld, and I'm on track to hopefully get an infantry commission after college.

Fuck my dad, don't say that shit. Also, BTTF is cool.

I hate most of the reddit-tier nostalgia movies like Back to the Future, Ghostbusters, etc, because I wasn't alive when they came out and so I can't look at them with rose-tinted glasses.

Check your clock, grandpa. Not him but I was born in 98 and I can post here now. Many adults older than me never went through the Ghostbusters craze. The whole arguent for nostalgiafags is basically
>child-targeted marketing ploys from when I was a kid are better than child-targeted marketing ploys from when you were a kid!
>>
>>70564609
I didn't see BTTF till I was 15 and really liked it. I hate the majority of nostalgia-core though
>>
>>70564609
I actually watched most of these 80s nostalgia films (BTTF, The Breakfast Club, Ferris Bueller) as an adult, and I liked them, cause they're good films :)

dont get all jumpy at me son

I was born in 98 too and BttF & Ghostbusters are some of my favourite movies.

Argue.
>>
Pee pee goes in mommy's poopie hole.
>>
>>70573532
But you probably still saw it at a young age, right? Things are better when your mind is still developing, and it's not hormonal to look back and realize that something is kind of shitty. Like, I used to love the first Pokemon movie but looking back, it isn't that great.

>>70573637
Bad argument

>>70573713
Did you see them when you were young? Either way, you're allowed to have favorites, but you'll find that most nostalgiafags are the ones who saw the movie when they were little kids and decide that it's THE BEST OF ALL TIME and get all butthurt when there's criticism.

>>70573831
I think you're wrong.

Yes, I saw some of these 80's movies when I was a kid, thanks to my father, who let me know of them.

My father is a old-movies lover too, but not because he thinks today films are bullshit, but because he revives old and better times for him. He remembers his childhood, his teenage. And what's wrong with that? Maybe Back to the Future, Ghostbusters, or some of these 80's comedies are not all that great, but are movies that move them to other times.

Of course there exists nostalgiafags, but not all the old-movies' lovers are.

now i dont even know where you getting at. of course i watched the most shitiest movies that amazed me when i was a kid. doesnt change anything about bttf
>>
>>70573831
Nope i only like good things.
I loved 5th element
I loved The cable guy
I loved ST:TMP
They are all great movies even now
>>
>>70564609
It's the most cliche movie I've seen. The 2nd is the best one, it's fun seeing the shitty future and Michael J. Fox trying to avoid his past self. 3rd is unwatchable
