On a scale of 1-10 how reddit is this flick?
This movie gave me autism. I now run random dialogs in my head with imaginary people, discussing real and fictional events. I want to kill myself.

It did start out pretty damn bad, untill they started discussing his life in the room. Then it just became a great movie imo. Totally drivin by story.

I've read through WoT twice in the last two years, and Man from Earth is one of my go to comfy films.

How do you guys tolerate the atrocious acting and 90s porn movie like production quality? My eyes and brain started to fry 15 mins in and I just had to drop it. Also, is it true that only people that like anime can appreciate this movie?

This movie is the ultimate pleb detector.
The only positive thing about it is the intriguing backstory, everything else is literal garbage.
Every single movie element is beyond atrocious, the mexican telenovela acting and cliche characters, exposition heavy dialogue that is essentialy a long Q&A with the main character, most basic stock soundtrack like it's pulled from those old Sony Ericsson VideoDJ libraries, boring back to back camerawork that has no use in adding or following the story. the shoved love side story, the pacing, the sitcom setup of characters, no use of the one room that they are in, laughable production design, literally everything is dogshit. I had to check twice that it indeed is from 2007
"Yeah go watch your Transformers with explosions then if you can't appreciate this" is the usual normie answer when you say that this is bad, but I bet that most of those people didn't even watch something like 12 Angry Men for example.
A bigger budget is not needed for the majority of the things I mentioned are bad, only a good and creative director. This shouldn't even be a movie, it should be a play.
But this schenkman guy probably doesn't even know what a director should do and how. For example pic related is a movie he made in 2012. Abraham lincoln vs fuckin zombies. The guy is a literal meme

This was the most boring movie. I kept on waiting for something amazing to happen. It never did. Pseudo intellectual trash.
I rather enjoyed this movie. It's like a 0-budget stage play (down to a lack of a soundtrack) about a group of academics discussing immortality. Other than jump-to-conclusions-mat-guy from Office Space, the performances were decent, and it was nice to see a bunch 80-90 tv-actors again.

I think he's joking.Besides, The Man of Earth, is actually an expansion of a concept the writer of the story first did for the original Star Trek series some 20 years before the first Wheel of Time novel, so even if they'd have anything in common, there's that.
