This was literally a diarrhea on screen. Absolute garbage passed off as a great and 'entertaining' 'film'.

Shit movie. Why do Americans glorify defeating 14 year old hitler youth in combat? Is it because the rest of their military history is so embarassing?

How in the fuck are the following overrated:
>Avatar
>Jurassic World
>Iron Man 3
>Age of Ultron
>Juno
>Precious

They get sufficient hate online. If anything, most of those are properly rated.

I'm sure it does. I'm high on cocaine and pretty drunk. The film is still shit though. It stinks of uno farto @ 3:17
>>
>>70546623
But Avatar minus Michelle Rodriguez is objectively great.

I just don't like the false western indoctrination taught to us as children that teaches us that we (the west) beat the Nazis.

Honestly, this may be Tarantino's best if not PF. It's overrated sure, but certainly not shit.
>>70546444
I honestly would not consider Tree of Life overrated

As for movies everyone loves but I hated, Prisoners for sure.

Tarantino is a meme tier director.

It doesn't it even look close to accurate. It's a Tarantino 'mail in' if there is such a thing.

I try to keep an open mind. This movie honestly surprised me with how legit bad it was.

It was touted as some kind of "bad ass...really good" movie...holy fuck it's just so damn boring and goofy ass quip fest.

I swore off cuckino after this shit.

>>
>>70548416
I honestly consider winter soldier to be my personal choice for most choice for capeshit film. All that nonsense of comparing it to a legit spy thriller, I mean have these people even watched a spy film made in the 70s?
It was far too simple for what it was pretending to be and as per usual the fight scenes were the regular pg rated bullshit complete with shakey calm.
>>
>>70548434

>BUH PLOT

You literally have no idea how to talk about film.
>>
>>70547291
Vellenuve is a hit or miss director with me, I loved enemy, incendies, I particularly liked Polytecnique
But I hated sicario and prisoners so fucking much.
>>
Skyfall, I fucking hate it.

I also don't like the Usual Suspects and think that Singer is over-rated as fuck.
>>
>>70546559
>>70546811
I love how you retards don't understand that the film was deconstructing protagonist-based morality and the USA USA jingoistic rhetoric

did you miss how the Basterds are sadistic psychopaths and every german who isn't Hitler is depicted as reasonable and honorable? Did you miss that Hitler was laughing at American soldiers getting killed, which is meant to make you feel uncomfortable and angry, even though the audience has been laughing at German soldiers getting killed?

God, I'm convinced most of /tv/'s userbase is genuinely retarded.
>>
>>70548645
Funny isn't it that people are going apeshit over the new X-men poster of Apocalypse choaking mystique, when the director is a coke and cock wielding pedophile rapist but I guess a poster is more important to some people.
>>
>>70546444
Not bad senpai, but you definitely have a blind spot for animation. Wall-E, Lego Movie and Inside Out are all brilliant.

Birdman, the: "poor me I'm a successful typecast actor that's not very talented". It's like an inside joke that doesn't carry over. No one outside Hollywood gives a shit about your existential issues or bruised ego Iñárritu. The long shots and Edward Norton acting don't make up for the shit premise.

>>
>>70548175
i'd like to hear why
even if it's not goat it seems pretty widely appreciated as a good movie
>>
>>70548717
The story is shit. The acting for the most part is shit. The cinematography is shit. Nothing about the movie is convincing whatsoever.

Inb4 it's supposed to be exaggerated over the top and unrealistic

I don't care if that was intended, it's still not good. There are plenty of movies intended to be over the top that hit the mark. This feet worshipping fart sniffing gigantic headed pedantic fetishist missed the mark completely.
>>
>>70549036

>not getting that the theater world was every bit as facile and superficial as the Hollywood world the protagonist left, ready to cling on like leeches to him and the near-tragic event he instigated

At least you caught that the movie was existential in nature...even if you think it was exclusively about actors...

Headcanon.

Despite how many people seem to love liotta, deniro and Pesci I feel they overact far too much. I also felt the film was lazy and poor with its first person narration and I couldn't get into the characters, onto of that it felt overly long, overly melodramatic and the dialogue I found edgy/loud/obnoxious, its a film of mostly just noise.
Millers crossing was the better gangster thing that year.
For gangster movies I'll stick with sicilian clan, le cercle rouge, bob le flambeur, layer cake, rififi, doulous and the first godfather.
>>
>>70549336
And I guess its execution of gangster cliches also bothered me.
>>
>>70549247
It was about himself, imo. I think he was basically whining passive aggressively through film; which is absurd. How self absorbed, egotistical, and narcissistic do you have to be to make a film like that? I'm not denying he is extremely talented, but if he let go of the ego, he could be GOAT tier. Also, forgot to add that without Lubezki, his films would not be what they are....
>>
>>70548175
It's better than watching a TV series do the same for much longer if you like that sort of skimming-from-man and respectful mob etiquette crap. That's about the best praise I can give it.

It has aged badly, I only care about the rabbit thing now, I feel it only appeals to you back when you're an awkward teenager.
Southland tales was underated though and actually kind of funny.
I'm curious about his remake of that twilight zone episode.
>>
>>70546101
Look m8 i'm the first to belittle Tarantino given his predilection to churn out ever worse films due to his cult like status and no one there to check his ego, BUT the first half of this film was quite good. It's only until the latter third where it falls apart to levels worse than even a B movie in terms of coherency.
The sniper's complete erasure of character for prior to the attack in the projector room, being the most glaring example.

I could stand Deniro however, at least in Taxi driver and raging bull, that said Taxi driver worked for me because of Paul schrraders writing rather than scorsese.

I can't believe people *fall* for the lengthy stalker mystery.
