I've been to Blunch in Boston, which is a relatively unknown basement hole-in-the wall, off the beaten path sort of place that makes an utterly god-tier egg frittata breakfast sandwich (and has a phenomenal panini menu, too).
I've also been to Dipasquale's and Chap's Pit Beef (as seen in The Wire season 1) in Baltimore, both of which DO NOT disappoint, though they are more of your "local legend" sorts of places.
I've probably been to even more places without realizing it, sincey tastes up and down the eastern seaboard tend to skew towards hardcore-DDD sorts of places. Guy can be annoying, but I have never been disappointed by places that he's gone to before.
TLDR: As a quite proficient amateur chef in my own right, I think he's a living caricature. But man, man oh man, does he know his unpretentious street food.
