I must say that I think this guy is a genius, plain simple. He doesn't try to act mysterious or anything, and seems to be a pretty humble guy, but his work is outstanding from every angle.

I'm opening this thread in his name, just to pay homage to him. He deserves it.

Very versatile too

Based Snyder.
>>
>>70522220
Yeah his best work was The Opening Ceremony (2012).
>>
>>70522503
>Met him irl in 2012. Pretty down to earth guy.

Exactly as I expected. But let's not assume that this makes him less of a genius. The more humble ones are generally the best. The others just need to suck their own dicks to get faggots to think it's a dick worth sucking.
>>
>>70522464

Trainspotting is the only decent movie you listed

I liked 28 Days Later, but you have to admit it was haphazard at best as a story.
>>

how the fuck is he underrated?
do you know what that term even means?
>>

>no Shallow Grave
Fucking kill yourself
>>
>>70523021
>how the fuck is he underrated?

People think he's great, but he's actually much more.

>do you know what that term even means?

It means he's better than people think.
>>
>>70523721
no, he is just good as people think he is. He's nothing special, trainspotting is still his most known movie. sunshine was fun, 127 hours is probably the best thing he's made, slumdog was just a blatant oscarbait.

the most recent steve jobs was shit, ashton kutcher was a better jobs then fassbender.
>>
>>70522952
28 Days Later basically reinvented the Zombie genre. It was incredibly influential on top of being a fantastic horror movie.
>>
>>70522464
It's funny how /tv/ always ignores him when making those retarded charts, even the one with like 250 directors doesn't have Boyle, I'd think it's a meme but it's simply /tv/ being fucking retarded
>>
>>70524009
extremely overrated movie.
>>
Sam Raimi.
Oshima Nagisa.
Kon Ichikawa.
Tony Scott.
The Pang brothers.
>>
>>70524145
Oh fuck, I forgot to add Guillermo del Toro. But he was kind of a honourable mention rather than fully-fledged "Underrated Director", since most people know his name.
>>
>>70523935
>no, he is just good as people think he is.

Wrong.

>>70523935
>He's nothing special

Wrong again.

> trainspotting is still his most known movie.

The only true thing you said.

>sunshine was fun,

It was much more, but not to you, I presume.

>127 hours is probably the best thing he's made

It was good, and did a great job for what it was, but it's not his best by far. Still intense.

>slumdog was just a blatant oscarbait.

That's not true. Had it not won any, you wouldn't even say that.

Your opinions are weak, man.
>>
>>70524180
>Guillermo del Toro.

He isn't. Pan's Labyrinth was very underwhelming, I found. Hellboy 1 was OK though disappointing, Hellboy 2 was surprisingly well done, but that's all. He's like a light Peter Jackson.
>>
>>70524035
Oliver Stone and Stephen Sodherberg have always been ignored too. You don't know shit about 4chan.
>>
>>70524315

Oliver Stone sort of earned it eventually, though.
>>
>>70524275
Yeah, he's not a genius, and I agree with you on Pan's Labyrinth, but you could do a lot worse than his stuff, honestly.
>>
>>70524364
>Yeah, he's not a genius, and I agree with you on Pan's Labyrinth, but you could do a lot worse than his stuff, honestly.

Of course.
>>
Robert Zemeckis is underrated in the sense that everybody knows half of his filmography but nobody can tell who directed them
>>
>>70524194
your arguments are weak, man
you just say I'm wrong, but don't point any counter arguments.

It's not that I don't like Danny, hes great, but I just don't agree with you that he is underrated. He is a quality director, but in all honesty, even 20+ years down the line, what would be a reason to watch one of his movies? My answer would be;1. Trainstpotting- it's a good movies but also a well made time piece
2. 127 hours cause its "exceptional" in its theme and execution.
>>
>>70522220
I don't think he's that underrated though?
>>
>>70524496
Both of your arguments are equally weak as shit. You're arguing over a fucking opinion you dip.
>>
>>70522220
Boyle and Edgar Wright, while widely known, aren't critically recognized as the geniuses that they are, and probably won't be for a while.
>>
>>70524838
I'm not arguing at all. I was just stating my opinions you, I think you have problem with reading and understanding what people are trying to say.

I've only seen his Bad Lieutenant. Quite a piece, but entirely dependant on Harvey Keitel (pronunciation?). Genius work, truly Christian movie.

In real life, PTA too

He's loved on here and he has a massive horror/action fan following but most of his masterpieces were panned when they came out and to this day a ton of critics don't hold him in high regard. Only France truly understands him.
