Reading this in context it sounds very different. It doesn't even seem like he's saying the Doctor remembers her, just that it's ambiguous if the memory wipe worked and that it might not have. Capaldi's been saying that since s9 ended. I'm guessing whatever he filmed that has to do with Clara will probably be in Class, since DW hasn't started yet, and either be set in a time before she died/flashback of sorts it will be done in a way that keeps the memory wipe issue ambiguous.
