this unfortunately my favorite i probably rear window or rope but i can admit psycho is his best even though its a cliche think Janet Leigh done as good a job as Perkins she plays a paro woman very welll also b&w films in an era where its not needed look very good
The 39 Steps is probably the most essential Hitchcock movie. I've seen Vertigo about ten times and I'm convinced it's his best, especially after reading that essay by Robin Wood (which I'd recommend to everyone).
Shadow of a Doubt is also easily the most criminally overlooked.
