I know, but it's like this: he spent all his free time working at an animal shelter for unloved bitches. They were crying out for help and he gladly stepped in, caring for them with tenderness and feeling almost as though he was one with them. Then one day he changes their dogfood. In unison they turn on him, as one, and savage him. It's all he can do to get out of the door, mauled and bloody, knowing that he can never return. For all his love, he is betrayed by those whom he thought closest to him. All the trust and respect he had placed in them was totally wasted, and now he realises that the friends he alienated by spending so much time at the shelter are gone forever.
