Does /tv/ like Mad Max on water?
I know this movie wasn't received well when it was released, and had a tonne of problems during production which pushed it way over bidget, but I always liked it.
It could have been great becuAe it's a cool premise but the mediocre story held it back

who thought that would be a good title?

It makes sense. It's a world, and it's covered in water. Its a... Water world.

ITT films that need a remake
>>70450576
but it sounds like the name of a fucking waterpark, not a dangerous mad-max world covered in ocean

Who stars as main protagonist?

Loved this movie.
The fucking kick ass inventor shit, the underwater exploration.
The punk pirates.

And have the sets replaced by CGI? No thanks.
The current state of big budget Hollywood blockbusts is absolutely atrocious.
I see the Waterworld show every time I go to Universal Studios. Besides the tour it's the best part of the park.

Wet & Wild

Even though I know this is a water park, it still sounds like a porno.

i love it, it's better than Mad Max
It had a lot of good elements that were overshadowed by some very goofy moments. The set design and costumes were extremely creative and immersive.
However that bloody speech the kid makes about how cool and badass Kevin Costner is always a cringe moment for me. The villain wasn't very interesting to me either. I always enjoyed Kevin Costner's character himself though.

>the studio had so much faith in this it signed a 3 year no cut guaranteed payout contract run to six flags for a multi park "Waterworld" water show (Think of those batman water stunt shows, which came after the contract ended and six flags had a ton of already paid for, built water sets)

I liked the Postman better.
