It's really shit, mostly due to Leo I think. It was an obvious Oscar bait but goddamn I actually liked the material and I like Eastwood as a director/producer as well so it's a damn shame it came out so poorly.

Not even remotely.
The make up was terrible and this was a performance that highlighted what little skill Leo has in regards to impersonation.
From actual people he's played Howard Hughes, J. Edgar Hoover, Jordan Belfort and Frank Abagnale Jr (Toby Wolff too but I have no idea what he is like as a person) and whilst each performance has been strong from a technical standpoint and hit the required emotional heights, and shows emotional range but not one of the performances actually resembles the real person even slightly in terms of voice, mannerism or behaviour. He never even changes his voice except for J. Edgar in which he sounds absolutely nothing like Hoover. I like him as an actor but he really is terrible at mimicry.
