The American Revolution was incredibly gray VS gray.
The colonials had a point in that they were being taxed without being represented in parliament. But the Brits had a point in putting the (actually pretty small) taxes in place, as the colonials had started a war with the French that cost Britain a shitload of money.
It says a lot that the most balanced version of the American revolution in popular culture is a hip-hop musical. And even that puts the blame on George III, who was pretty much not involved in the entire thing.

The Soviet Union produced more heavy and more medium tanks than the U.S. and had the fuel to use them. The Il-2 was the T-34 of the skies, and the Luftwaffe was basically bombed to bits by the RAF and the USAAF, so they didn't need fighters or bombers. They had more men as well. So what good would the few Shermans you sent them have done?
Britain defended its own island virtually unsupported aside from food, which we could have just rationed anyway. Africa, we got a few tanks.
