Honestly, studio mandated reshoots confirm what I already knew: Edwards is a bad director and a terrible choice for a Star Wars movie. I imagine the rough cut screening was similar to the Phantom Menace one - the collective crew mouth agape in confused horror.
This "too dark" shit is damage control for Disney making a bad decision by hiring some piece of shit flavor of the month director. A mistake they will repeat and regret again with Trevorrow and Episode IX.
