While it probably went too far in a few places (the camp scene, the kitchen scene, the numerous rape scenes, the one scene with the untouched jungle tribe and the incest ritual) it is honestly one of the finest and most brutal representations of war in the history of cinéma.

I didn't mind this movie being family rated because I don't think anyone should be spared from the horrors of war, but I do think the 20 minute tirade spliced randomly into the scene where Conner is crawling through the Vietnamese rathole with a leash made of slow fuse grenades was a bit much for the younger audiences.
After a full 2 hours of very visually impressive practical effects, it's quite hard to keep the children still for 20 minutes, watching Kemp talk directly to the viewer from a single chair in a white room about the evils of the zog machine, about how the movie is really an allegory for not just the horrors of war, but the horrors committed on our lands every day by unelected, non-representative Jewish "people" who are bleeding the few remaining dollars out of the fingers of the proletariat.
While his words rang true, a few members of the audience saw it as a chance to take a brief toilet break, which meant that I wasn't able to see the expression on Kemp's face as he raved with bile in his throat at the death of his homeland, because I was too busy barricading the aisle doors.
