Also Farscape general or whatever.

Farscape, damn, yeah. I was about to ask if it's Clowns in Space. It kinda was a flying Freakshow, though. That little dude with the whiskers? The mushroom navigator? What a trip! And a Claudia is nice, too.

It's really only in the first season that they do this, because they still don't trust each other. In later seasons it's only Rygel that occasionally does this because he's a cowardly slime-ball

>I get it, but come on, there's no way they wouldn't have just killed each other by the end.

The show was written as 5 seasons. The 5th season would've been the last, hence the unfortunate cliffhanger at the end of season 4.

When there was to be no season 5, Peacekeeper Wars was made to squeeze the plot of season 5 into something they could afford, so they could at least finish telling the story.

I know all this, I just wish they were able to raise enough money to make it a bit longer. Part 1 seriously feels like a greatest hits compilation of random scenes from season 5 scripts, it's a mess. Just one more 90 minute episode would probably have given enough breathing room to greatly improve the pacing

Honestly the only show that's similar to Farscape isn't even a sci-fi space opera. However, it is a character-based show about a stalwart team banding together to overcome more powerful threats, with a great mix of drama and humor just like Farscape. What show am I talking about? It's actually already been mentioned in this thread

Tried mage both times. I don't remember my build, but first playthrough I remember having an oil slick spell, and a fire spell, and I thought it was pretty neat that you could combine them.

On my second play through, which was years later, the mage I built ended up having like 3/4ths of my spells the same as Claudia's, and that's what killed the game for me. Pretty much the only spell she had that I didn't was the one that turned her into a spider, and I think I had a healing spell she didn't or something like that.

It's been long enough that I'm willing to give the game a third try, and I'll try that style next time.

just be careful, and make sure to look at Morrigan's spell list so you don't copy any abilities she already has

Arcane Warrior is actually hard to specialize in, requires good knowledge of the game mechanics to fully appreciate. If it's been years, I'd suggest the healer route and focusing on white magic, make believe you're a Jedi Consular.

Enjoying RPGs is really about state of mind, if you're involved in the setting and story you'll become obsessed, if not you'll lose interest. IMO, Dragon Age: Origins is the best game Bioware ever made, worth playing for sure, and you'll appreciate Claudia Black all the more if you take the Morrigan romance arc all the way to the end

I think the point in the initial casting with her was to make her appear "not quite human."

Since Subaceans are supposedly descendants of humans that were abducted by aliens and heavily modified genetically to serve the purpose of said aliens.

This is correct. I love the villain in this one. "I NEED MORE LIGHT!" And he starts explaining his whole plan about how his people are going to take all the light and rule the galaxy or whatever and Crichton just nonchalantly murders him. Then they are never mentioned again. The best.

Dog With Two Bones is the objectively best episode. It still hurts, even after all these years.

My personal favorite is Hot To Katratzi though, John finally giving up on his pacifist ways to save Aeryn, and the emotional payoff in the end is just glorious.

I would argue both Browder and Black can easily be oscar-nominated for some episodes' performances, their chemistry together is just off the charts.
>>
>>70380969
Dog With Two Bones is definitely the best John-centic episode, it's sad to watch. Hot to Katratzi is just a fun episode stuck in an unremarkable three-parter, which had far more potential than it ever realized

I love how this along with Lexx and Crusade was born from Blake's 7.

But Farscape made it more obvious with Crais being Travis and Grayza being Servalan. And it's nice in weird homag-y way.

I'll always have a soft spot for Claudia Black, mostly because Aeryn was the exact sort of girl that really got under my skin. That "brash, independent, intimidating exterior hiding a shy, sensitive, and kind soul" sort of girl was always the type that I really "clicked" with, and that duality was handled perfectly by her, to the point where she's the only TV character I ever felt an emotional connection to (other than Rust Cohle and maybe Jimmy McNulty, but they are much more autobiographical for me).

And as luck would have it, I ended up with a tall, athletic girl with a Similarly striking face and deep voice, and our relationship started as more of a rivalry, with her getting pissed off at me, me getting irritated with her, and so on until we finally realized that she was one of the gentlest souls I had ever met and her stand-offishness was just her shyness and the chemistry talking. 6 years later and we're still going strong.

>And only sometimes do I find myself wanting to make her dye her hair black so she can truly become my real-life Claudia-fu

All sci-fi threads in general are super chill because the fans are so much more dedicated than what you get with normal TV, and the whiny normalfags don't even touch the genre outside of Battlestar Galactica anyway.
