It had some questionable editing and some characters struggled to find things to do, but the film as a whole is one of the smartest philosophical critiques of superheroes I've ever said. I seriously think critics were just too dumb to understand it. Also it referenced a TON of comic book arcs in interesting ways and had excellent cinematography and a good score.
But regardless, judging a superhero film for its acting and its writing is like judging a burger for how good its onions are.

My complaint is the missed opportunity when Superman is in the Senate. Perfect opportunity for some heated exchanges on Superman, him speaking for himself and the politicians representing the people and government, like talking about the damage to Metropolis and what should be done after that.
But no, the lady doesn't even get to finish the preamble and the bomb goes off. Typical.

One thing I love about DC movies is they don't give a shit about China. Marvel does that thing where they use shots that show lips a lot and everything looks friendly. DC doesn't even care that a lot of its shots have no good place for a subtitle. Its hard to explain for me but its like the plot is so complex (or poorly written) that a Chinese guy could never understand it which makes me happy as an American film fan, Marvel intentionally tries to make its films as internationally friendly as possible.
